Are you planning to move from iPhone to Android? Maybe you have both iPhone and Android devices, and you're looking for a way to make both phones synchronize your pictures together? Don't look too far. You'll definitely find several ways about how to transfer photos from iPhone to Android in this article.
Sometimes, you might take a bunch of group photos on your friend's iPhone, but you don't want to share them over WhatsApp or other social media apps to retain the quality. Fortunately, there are various ways to share photos from iPhone to Android without losing the quality. Follow us below as we guide you through the straightforward way.
Drag-and-drop
One common and easiest way to transfer photos from iPhone to Android is using the "drag-and-drop" method. This method requires you to connect both the Android and iPhone phone to a Windows computer using USB cables supported by each device. Through that, you can easily drag your photos from the iPhone's default photos folder to your Android phone.
To get started, simply grab a Windows PC. Get the necessary USB cables for both devices, then follow the steps below.
- First, connect your iPhone with a supported USB cable to a USB port on the PC, then attach the Android phone to another USB port on the PC.
- In case you've not yet done so, swipe the notification panel on your Android phone and tap the notification saying "USB Charging this device", then select File Transfer from the options.
- Now open File Explorer on your PC, then go to This PC. You should see two new Portable Devices on the window if your configuration is correct.
- Right-click on the iPhone's storage and open it in a new window. Do the same to Android's storage.
- Inside the iPhone storage, find the DCIM folder and open it. Select all the photos/videos you wish to transfer to the Android phone. After that, drag and drop the selected images into the desired folder inside the Android's storage (the second window you opened earlier).
The PC will start the transfer process, which may take longer depending on the number/size of the photos. Sometimes, your computer might hang or feel unresponsive. If it becomes too slow or unresponsive, you may first copy the pictures to your PC, then move them to the Android phone later.
Dropbox
Dropbox is a popular cloud storage service that works across all platforms. And it's an incredible option for you now that you need to send pictures from iPhone to Android. For a start, Dropbox offers you free storage space to upload your stuff to the cloud.
To use the service to transfer your photos, you need to first download the Dropbox app on both the iPhone and Android phone, then follow our simple steps below.
- Launch Dropbox on your iPhone and sign-in to your account or create a free Dropbox account.
- After that, you need to enable Camera Uploadinside the Dropbox app to automatically upload, and continue to synchronize, the photos in your camera roll to the cloud. If some pictures aren't synchronized automatically, you can use the "+ button" in the Dropbox app to upload them manually.
- After the photos are uploaded successfully, open Dropbox on your Android phone and sign-in to the same Dropbox account with your iPhone. You can now access and download the images to your Android phone from there.
- On the other hand, if you want to share only some selected photos with another Dropbox user, you can take advantage of the Dropbox sharing feature. All you need is to select all the required pictures, then share them as a link to the other user. On receiving the link, the other user could view and download the photos on Android.
